Herpes Cure Pipeline 4.0

The Herpes Cure Pipeline 4.0 is here!

Herpes Cure Pipeline 4.0 Release Meeting May 8, 2025 Recording

The Herpes Cure Pipeline is a proprietary report produced by Herpes Cure Advocacy outlining active pre-clinical research and clinical trials for new therapies treating herpes infections.

Despite affecting billions globally and carrying a substantial health and economic burden, herpes simplex virus (HSV) remains critically underfunded in research and development (R&D) when compared to other infectious diseases and therapeutic areas.

The landscape of herpes research is undergoing a transformation, with multiple new therapies showing potential to change the standard of care for HSV-1 and HSV-2. From gene editing technologies to mRNA vaccines and next-generation antivirals, the pipeline reflects a growing momentum toward options with more effective viral suppression and even potential cures.

Join for an update on the current clinical pipeline, and learn about Herpes Cure Advocacy mission to grow the clinical pipeline and advance the field towards a cure.

Speakers:

Dr. Simon Delagrave

Dr. Simon Delagrave, Ph.D., is a life sciences R&D executive, consultant, and board member whose 28 years of professional experience span infectious diseases and gene therapy, deploying various technologies such as viral vectors, vaccines, antibodies, structural biology, protein design, and protein engineering.

Dr. Luis Schang

Dr. Luis Schang is a molecular virologist interested in the interactions between viruses and cells, interactions which determine the outcomes of the infection and, consequently, pathogenicity. He is particularly interested in the commonalities among unrelated viruses. His laboratory works to identify small molecules that inhibit the infectivity or replication of multiple viruses and then use these compounds as probes to find commonalities among mostly unrelated viruses. This research answers fundamental questions on molecular virology while identifying biologically active small molecule scaffolds that may be developed as antivirals. Dr. Schang is a Professor of Chemical Virology at Cornell University.

  1. When will the candidates be released in the mid-west for testing/treatment? I’ve had HSV since I was a little girl. It never belonged to me! I’m thankful for all who are working on vaccines to help everyone infected. I pray something works sooner than later! I’m 30 now.
