Herpes Cure Now

We want to expedite this work because patients are waiting. Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV-1 and HSV-2) impacts billions and is a serious chronic infectious disease. Beyond acute symptoms, HSV is being studied as a contributing factor to cognitive decline, leading to Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Fibromyalgia and Encephalitis, among other neurological conditions.

Herpes Patient Advocacy

Herpes is the most stigmatized of all STIs and is the only one with no effective treatment or cure. Despite its prevalence globally it is still a traumatic diagnosis that can cause feelings of shame, chronic stress, depression or anxiety. We believe because it is stigmatized so intensely, there have been no centralized advocacy efforts to date, and no cure.

Herpes Prevention

There needs to be greater emphasis on prevention as no national strategy exists. In addition to an effective cure, testing and surveillance efforts for HSV need to be examined and reimagined. Herpes is treated differently than other STIs at the CDC and in medical community, we believe, because of bias.

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.
