Phase 1 Clinical Trial Opens for Patients with RECURRENT GENITAL HERPES

NEWS! Phase 1 Clinical Trial is now Recruiting Patients with HSV-2 INFECTION

A Phase 1 clinical trial with an investigational herpes vaccine has expanded its recruiting criteria to now include participants living with HSV-2. The exploratory clinical trial (which began recruiting in December 2022) consists of three parts – two of which have been involving “healthy volunteers” and have closed recruitment already. The third part now opened and is enrolling individuals with recurrent HSV-2 genital herpes. To be eligible patients need to have been diagnosed with HSV-2 genital herpes for at least one year and must have had multiple (at least three, maximum nine) outbreaks per year. Participants will receive three intramuscular doses of either the investigational vaccine or placebo and are required to come to the clinic for several on-site visits.
