Is it Time to Start Screening for Herpes?
Should herpes be part of a routine STI checkup? For years the answer has been no—the old antibody tests gave too many false positives, and many doctors weren’t convinced that knowing your status actually helped. In this talk, leading researcher at UCLA and HCA Board Member Dr. Lao-Tzu Allan-Blitz takes a fresh look at that question, exploring why better tests, stronger evidence that treatment can reduce transmission, and promising new medications may finally be tipping the balance toward screening people who want to know their herpes status.
